Women's ministy at Grace includes three different women's circles: Lizzie-Estelle, Mary-Martha, and Dorcas. Each group meets together monthly for fellowship, study, and outreach ministry. Women at Grace also have opportunities to attend retreats together and to connect with other women of faith in the North Carolina Synod and across the ELCA. Check out the Women of the ELCA (WELCA) organization website to see more about the great opportunities to serve our neighbors and each other happening throughout the nation.
Lizzie-Estelle Women's Circle
The Lizzie-Estelle group is a wonderful group of faithful women who gather together once a month for some refreshments, Bible Study, and fellowship with one another. These relaxed style meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month in the Grace fellowship hall at 9:30am. This fun group has activities geared to ministry to the church and to the community. They do this by supporting many organizations in the community such as the Hunger & Health Coalition, Goodwill, Oasis. Ram's Rack, and more! They also support the many ministries of Grace in many different ways!
Mary-Martha Women's Circle
The Mary-Martha Circle enjoys spending time together meeting on the first or second Saturday of each month. At the meetings there is time for visiting, fellowship, refreshments, and a devotion, Bible study, or program. The primary focus of each meeting is to address and determine needs and projects that benefit church, community and individuals that may have specific needs. Many years ago, Mary-Martha Circle started the Card Ministry that is still a very active ministry of Grace today! This group supports a variety of different organizations in the church and the community. Mary-Martha Circle has an open invitation to all women and welcomes new members. For more information please contact Judy Wellborn or the Grace office.
Dorcas Women's Circle
Dorcas typically meets monthly on varied evenings so it's convenient for both working and retired women. Our gatherings usually involve food followed by Fellowship, Study, or Outreach activities. Building relationships in Christ has been a focus in everything we are about. Some of the fun learning, serving, welcoming and worship opportunities from the past are sewing school backpacks for Lutheran World Relief (LWR), Women’s Beach Retreat to Hilton Head Island, Wild Women’s Retreat at Lutheridge, Book swap, Johnson house clean up, Bible study, Picnic and hike up Howard’s Knob, Dinner and Devotions, Dinner and a Movie, Bible on Tap, Bowling, and an Ugly Sweater Christmas Party. We invite you to come and try it out, meet new friends and get involved. Make it yours!!! All are Welcome!!! For more information please contact Kathy Griewisch or the Grace office.
