Our Pillowcase Dress Ministry is a unique ministry opportunity to provide some nice clothing for children around the world.  Similarly to our Quilting Ministry, this ministry partners with Lutheran World Relief (LWR) and other organizations to deliver these dresses.

 

Members of our faith community donate pillowcases to this group who then use their sewing magic to create beautiful dresses and shorts out of these pillowcases.  

 

Anyone with sewing experience is welcome to share in this ministry opportunity! If you are interested in learning more, helping out, or donating pillowcases please contact Martha Moretz or the Grace Church Office.

This year, 300 pillowcase dresses made by the Pillowcase Dress Ministry Team were blessed as well as 55 boys’ shorts. This year, some of the clothing will be taken to a community with displaced children in Tanzania by Jesse & Divera Lutabingwa. We will also give some of the dresses and shorts to Samaritan’s Purse where they will be sent to children all over the world in their Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. Many thanks to all who helped in any way in the making of these clothes, whether by sewing or donations for needed materials. We give praise and glory to God for this ministry.
